Reproduction Window Sash

Farmhouse1.jpg

Comal County
Texas

This project was to supply reproduction millwork for a late eighteen-hundreds farmhouse which had been relocated (still on the original farm) with a new living/master suite addition connected to the original structure by a new "dining hall".   Authentic construction methods and period correct details were of great concern to the owners.

We constructed all new wood double hung windows using Spanish cedar and insulated low E glass as well as all exterior and interior doors.  Exterior door jambs and transoms were provided assembled with exterior trim attached and doors pre-hinged. Interior doors were provided hinged in jambs.  We also supplied all new interior door and window casing.

1-1/8" Wood window screens with bronze wire were constructed for all windows.  Exterior wood rolling slat shutters were faithfully recreated using existing examples from the original farmhouse.

The Project included 40 double hung windows, 5 double exterior door units, 4 single exterior door units, 15 interior doors, 40 window screens, 8 pair of shutters, and miscellaneous moldings and trim. As shown above, an exterior door and window unit. Door and 2 double hung windows shop were assembled into one unit with exterior trim applied.
